Local Convenience Store, newsagent and Post Office – North Duffield

Cash withdrawals available at the Post Office counter free of charge and help keep our Post Office within the community. A wide variety of everyday items at reasonable prices.

The Drover’s Arms, Skipwith is a traditional country pub with an excellent chef.

Well worth booking a table at busy times and Sunday Lunches.

Dog friendly and only 2 minutes by car or a pleasant 15 minute walk, turn right from our gate, at the second house turn left and walk through the woods until you cross the little wooden bridge where you will see the main road and Skipwith Village to your left. The Drovers to the right.


Take Away Fish & Chip Van comes to North Duffield on a Tuesday from 5pm. You’ll see it in the Kings Arms car park.

Mr C’s award winning Chip Shop in Selby is situated in Micklegate Selby, YO8 4EA

Follow signs for the Abbey and take the first turning on the right after passing the Abbey. Mr C’s is at the far end of the square on the left.

It is around 8 miles from here so best to eat in the car while it’s hot.

Breakfast available at the Drovers Arms  Skipwith at weekends.

You’ll also find a good breakfast any day at York Marina  Naburn, YO194RW.   A very good café with comfortable seating. Dogs are welcome in the marque attached to the café.

From here head towards York and either turn left of the A19 signposted Naburn  or continue further towards to Crockey Hill and turn left before the Traffic Lights.These are both country roads to Naburn.


Local butcher – Mounfield at Bubwith

Staithe Street, Bubwith Closed All day Sunday and after One o’clock on Monday & Tuesday afternoons.

Drive over the bridge and take the first turning on the left and immediately left through the gateway to the car park.  The Butchers is not on the main road so you need to look out for the signs.

Directions to Bubwith: Turn left onto York Road and drive through North Duffield, turn left onto Market Weighton Road and once you go over the Derwent Bridge you are entering Bubwith.
